Lyophobic colloids:-
- Lyophobic colloids stand for liquid-hating colloids.
- These are the colloids in which the dispersed phase particles will have a little affinity for the dispersion medium particles.
- These colloids are highly viscous in nature and are often followed by the gel formation.
- Example of lyophobic colloids:- sols of metal, sulphides of metal, hydroxides of metal.
Hence, lyophobic colloid is an irreversible colloid.
