Solution

The correct option is C 3μB
Given: magnetic moment of electron in first orbit=μB
To find: magnetic moment of electron in 3rdorbit,μ3=?
Solution: As we know that,
μn=neh4πme
So, in 3rdorbit,moment is,
μ3=3eh4πme ....(1)
and bohr magneton has a value,
μB=eh4πme ...(2)
On equating (1),(2),we get
μ3=3μB
hence,
The correct opt :C
