Now, according to the question,

$\Rightarrow 100 p + 30 p = 1040$
$\Rightarrow 130 p = 1040$
$\Rightarrow p = \frac{1040}{130} = 8$ per kg.
Hence, the selling price of the rice $=$ Rs. $8$ per kg
