Vaishnavism and Shaivism are the two main forms of Hinduism in present times. Both these forms emerged during the Bhakti movement. Vaishnavism believes in the supremacy of Vishnu and worships Vishnu or his main avatars, Rama and Krishna. Shaivism believes in the supremacy of Shiva and worships Shiva as the main god.
Both Vaishnavism and Shaivism has millions of followers in present day India. They are the most popular forms of Hinduism. There are many temples in India dedicated to Vaishnavism or Shaivism which attracts millions of pilgrims.
