Nitrogen (N) component of proteins, nucleic acids, porphyrins, and coenzymes.Chlorosis appears first in older leaves, dormancy of lateral buds, delay flowering.
Phosphorus (P) Component of ATP and NADP. Involved in energy transfer. Reduced growth, promotes leaf fall and delay flowering.
•Tea yellow disease
Sulfur (S) component of sulphur containing vitamins(biotin, thiamine) and coenzyme-A. Chlorosis in young leaves.
Calcium (Ca) component of middle lamella. It helps to stabilize the structure of chromosomes, required for the development of root and stem apex, conversion of toxic oxalic acid to calcium oxalate. Wilther tip disease.
Death of root and tips.
Magnesium (Mg) component of chlorophyll. Required for ribosomes. The appearance of necrotic spots.
Potassium (K) it is required as a cofactor for about 40 enzymes. Essential for permeability, stomatal movement and for translocation of food. Inhibit protein synthesis.
