We know that, if two angles are complementary, then their sum is 90o.

For a pair of angles to be complementary, both of them should be less than 90°.

Also we know, angles less than 90° are called acute angles.

Hence, Manasa is right, i.e., each angle in any pair of complementary angles is always acute.
