Depending upon their growing season, Indian crops are classified as Rabi and Kharif crops. The crops which are sown in the beginning of winter (October-November) are known as Rabi or winter season crops. Examples- wheat, gram, pea, mustard etc (B-4).
The crops, sown at the beginning of rainy season (June-July), are known as Kharif crops or summer season crops. Examples- rice, groundnut, maize, soybean etc (A-5).
Manures and fertilisers are nutrients which are added to soil to replenish the soil with nutrients and thereby facilitating healthy growth of plants. Manure comprises waste products of plants, animals and other natural materials which make it rich in organic nutrients (D-3).
Fertilisers are the inorganic chemical substances that serve as source of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Examples- Urea, super sulphate, ammonium sulphate etc (C-2).
