The correct option is C 1-iii-e, 2-v-c, 3-ii-a, 4-i-d, 5-iv-b
  • Arteries carry the oxygenated blood from heart to all parts of the body. They are thick walled due to the high pressure of the blood flowing and are deeply located.
  • WBCs are large, nucleated and colourless cells which attack and kill the pathogens. There are 5000-10000 WBCs present per mm3 of blood.
  • Veins carry the deoxygenated blood from all parts of the body to the lungs. They have valves which prevent the backflow of blood and are superficially located i.e., closer to the skin.
  • Platelets are small, disc-shaped structures which participate in the process of blood clotting. There are 2.5-4 lakh platelets present per mm3of blood.
  • RBC are small, circular and enucleated cells. These cells are red coloured due to the presence of haemoglobin. RBC carry haemoglobin to all parts of the body. There are 50 - 60 lakh RBCs present in each cubic millimeter of blood.
