The League of Nations was established on 10th January 1920. On 29th September 1938, the heads of four countries met in Munich and signed the Munich Agreement. Germany and the Soviet Union signed the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact in Moscow on 23rd August 1939. On 1st September 1939, German troops marched into Poland marking the beginning of the Second World War.
