Intra-Uterine Devices (IUDs) are contraceptive devices placed in the uterus of the female to achive contraception, by either blocking the path of the sperms or reducing sperm motility or increasing phagocytosis of sperms or making the uterus sunsuitable for implantation. Copper-T is one type of IUD which releases copper ions which reduce sperm motility and increase the phagocytosis of sperms in the uterus.
