Solution

The correct option is B

(i)-(b), (ii)-(d), (iii)-(a), (iv)-(c)

Diploid chromosome number of Apple is 34, Maize is 20, Rice is 24 and Potato is 48. The gametes of apple and rice have half the number of chromosomes than the sporophytic cell. Therefore , it will be 17 and 12 respectively. The meiocyte of maize undergoes meiosis but is diploid itself and will have 20 chromosomes. The pollen mother cell of potato is also diploid with 48 chromosomes.
