Solution

The correct option is A A - 1, B - 3, C - 4, D - 2
List I List II
A. AdrenalinAdrenaline and noradrenaline are two separate but related hormones and neurotransmitters. They are produced in the centre (medulla) of the adrenal glands and in some neurons of the central nervous system. They are released into the bloodstream and serve as chemical mediators, and also convey the nerve impulses to various organs. Adrenaline has many different actions depending on the type of cells it is acting upon. However, the overall effect of adrenaline is to prepare the body for the ‘fight or flight’ response in times of stress, i.e. for vigorous and/or sudden action.
So the correct option is 'Anger, fear, danger'.
B. Estrogen Estrogen is a hormone. Although present in the body in small amounts, hormones have big roles in maintaining your health. Estrogen is commonly associated with the female body. Men also produce estrogen, but women produce in higher levels. The hormone estrogen is responsible for the sexual development of girls when they reach puberty. It also regulates food intake, body weight, glucose metabolism, and insulin sensitivity.
So the correct option is 'females'.

C. Insulin Insulin is a hormone made by an organ located behind the stomach called the pancreas. There are specialised areas within the pancreas called islets of Langerhans (the term insulin comes from the Latin insula that means island). The islets of Langerhans are made up of different type of cells that make hormones, the commonest ones are the beta cells, which produce insulin. Insulin has many effects but mainly it controls how the body uses carbohydrates found in certain types of food. Carbohydrates are broken down by the human body to produce a type of sugar called glucose.
So the correct option is 'glucose'.
D. Pheromones Pheromone, any endogenous chemical secreted in minute amounts by an organism in order to elicit a particular reaction from another organism of the same species. Pheromones are widespread among insects and vertebrates; they are also found in crustaceans but are unknown among birds. The chemicals may be secreted by special glands or incorporated in other substances, such as urine. They may be shed freely into the environment or deposited in carefully chosen locations. Pheromones are also used by some fungi, slime molds, and algae as attractants in reproduction; organisms of complementary reproductive cell types grow or move toward each other.
So the correct option is 'attracting partners through sense of smell'.
