Meena went to a bank to withdraw $Rs2000$. She asked the cashier to give her $Rs50$ and $Rs100$ notes only. Meena got $25$ notes in all. Find how many notes $Rs50$ and $Rs100$ she received.

Let the Rs.$50$ notes by $x$ and Rs.$100$ notes be $y.$

$\therefore$ Total notes $=(x+y)$ notes

Total notes (given) $=25$ notes

$\therefore (x+y)=25⟶\left(i\right)$

Total money Meena has$=50x+100y$

Total money (given) $=$Rs.$2000$

On simplification$,$

$x+2y=40⟶\left(ii\right)$

On substraction $\left(i\right)$ and $\left(ii\right),$

$-y=-15$

$y=15$ notes

putting $y$ in $\left(i\right)$

$x+y=25$

$x=10$ notes

$\therefore$ Rs.$50$ notes$=10$ notes$.$

Rs.$100$ notes$=15$ notes$.$
