Solution

Let the number of 50 rupee notes be x, and 100 rupee notes be y.

Given, Meena got 25 notes in all.
So, x+ y = 25
Or, y = 25 - x ...(i)

Given, the total amount is ₹ 2000

So, 50 x + 100 y = ₹ 2000

Or, x + 2 y = 40

From (i) , we have,

x + 2(25-x) = 40
x + 50- 2x = 40
x = 10

y = 25 - x
y = 25-10
y = 15

Hence, she received 10 notes of ₹ 50 and 15 notes of ₹ 100.
