Let present age of Meera $= x$ years
Let present age of Meera's mother $= y$ years
After five years age of Meera $= (x + 5)$ years
After five years age of Meera's mother $= (y + 5)$ years
According to problem,
$y = 4 x$ ………….. $(1)$
$y + 5 = 3 (x + 5)$ ……… $(2)$
Put $(1)$ in $(2)$ , we get
$4 x + 5 = 3 x + 15$
$4 x - 3 x = 15 - 5$
$x = 10$
$y = 40$
$∴$ Meera's present age $= 10$ years
Meera's mother's present age $= 40$ years.
