Melting points of three solids A,B and C are 298K,310K and 400K respectively. Arrange these metals in incresing order of force of attraction between the particles of solid.

Solution

More the melting point, more will be the force of attraction between the particles. As the bonds are stronger higher temperature is needed to cleave the bond so that melting occur. Thus the force of attraction is in the order C > B > A, as the melting points are in the order 400 K > 310 K > 298 K
