Advantages of five-kingdom classification:

  1. It demonstrates the evolutionary link between various groupings in terms of organizational levels and manner of sustenance.
  2. Prokaryotes are classified as kingdom monera and are separated from the kingdom Plantae.
  3. It demonstrates an evolutionary pattern that indicates the progressive emergence of sophisticated animals from simpler ones.
  4. Fungi is classified as a separate species and Euglena and other unicellular eukaryotes are classified as protists and Cyanobacteria are classified as a Monera kingdom, therefore, this eliminates several anomalies in recognizing unicellular creatures.
