Solution

Parietal cells (also known as oxyntic or delomorphous cells) are the epithelial cells. These cells are located in the gastric glands found in the lining of the fundus and in the cardia of the stomach. Parietal, or oxyntic, cells occur throughout the length of the gland and are responsible for the production of hydrochloric acid, which is necessary to activate the other enzymes.
