Mention the function of pinosome.

Open in App
Solution

Explanation:

  1. Pinocytosis is the process by which the cells uptake solutes and single molecules such as sugars and proteins.
  2. When the extra-cellular solutes attach to the specific receptors of the membrane, an invagination is formed.
  3. This invagination is drawn inwards and pinched off into small vesicles called pinocytic vesicles or pinosome.

Function:

The pinosome separates from the plasma membrane and passes into the crystal matrix for either bursting or fusing with tonoplast.
