1. Blood is the fluid connective tissue of our body.
2. It consists blood plasma and blood corpuscles or blood cells.
3. The blood cells are of three types namely red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.

Functions of blood:

1. The haemoglobin pigment of RBC carries oxygen and provides it to different cells of the body.
2. WBC protects from disease-causing microbes.
3. Platelets help in the clotting of blood at the site of injury.
4. Blood also transports nutrients, hormones, waste products etc.
