1. Silk moths lay eggs and that hatch after approximately 35 days the silkworms are ready to spin a silk cocoon.
2. Silkworm is killed before reaching the moth stage because moth secretes a fluid that dissolves the silk so that it emerges out of cocoon.
3. Silk is extracted from the undamaged cocoons by brushing the cocoon.
4. Silk filaments are then wound on a reel.
5. A yarn is then made by combining other filaments of silk.
