Question

Mention two ways in which root hairs are suited for absorption of water from the soil.

Solution

Root hairs are suited for absorption of water from the soil for the following reasons.
(i)  The xylem in root hairs is not fully developed.
(ii) The epidermis and endodermis of root hairs are permeable to water, so they can easily absorb water from the soil.
