Mexican dwarf wheat variety was developed by Ernst Norman Borlaug. He got Nobel Prize in 1970 for this. This wheat variety has high protein content and higher yield. The wheat plant is a shorter plant with a stronger stalk which prevents the falling of the grains from the wind. It also takes less time for the plant to grow to the height needed to produce grain.
