The correct option is D Polysaccharide degradation. Mitochondria synthesizes ATP by the process of aerobic respiration during normal carbohydrate and β-oxidation of fatty acids. Carbohydrates and β-oxidation both require Krebs cycle. As mitochondria has its own genetic material, nucleic acid synthesis also occurs inside mitochondria. Degradation of polysaccharide is not a function of mitochondria.
