The correct option is B Rs.12,000
Let Giridhar’s monthly income = Rs.x
$∴$ Expenditure on household items $= R s . \frac{x}{2}$
Expenditure on transport $= R s . \frac{x}{4}$
Expenditure on entertainment $= R s . \frac{x}{8}$
Expenditure on sports $= R s . (\frac{x}{2} \times \frac{x}{10}) = R s . \frac{x}{20}$
Savings $= x - \frac{x}{2} - \frac{x}{4} - \frac{x}{8} - \frac{x}{20}$
$= R s . (\frac{40 x - 20 x - 10 x - 5 x - 2 x}{40})$
$= R s . \frac{3 x}{40} ∴ \frac{3 x}{40} = 900$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{900 \times 40}{3} = R s .12000$
