The correct option is B Rs.12,000

Let Giridhar’s monthly income = Rs.x
$\therefore$ Expenditure on household items $=Rs.\frac{x}{2}$
Expenditure on transport $=Rs.\frac{x}{4}$
Expenditure on entertainment $=Rs.\frac{x}{8}$
Expenditure on sports $=Rs.(\frac{x}{2}\times \frac{x}{10})=Rs.\frac{x}{20}$
Savings $=x-\frac{x}{2}-\frac{x}{4}-\frac{x}{8}-\frac{x}{20}$
$=Rs.\left(\frac{40x-20x-10x-5x-2x}{40}\right)$
$=Rs.\frac{3x}{40}\therefore \frac{3x}{40}=900$
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{900\times 40}{3}=Rs.12000$
