Mukesh's father is a farmer. He was worried about his crop being damaged by stray cattle. Mukesh suggested his father to plant 4-5 rows of citrus and rose bushes around the farm. How can the hedge be raised around? What is its utility? What values were shown by Mukesh?

Rose is a prickly bush. Citrus possesses thorns. The thick hedge of the two can prevent the entry of stray cattle. Moreover, these bushes are not browsed by cattle.
Hedge of rose or citrus can be planted in February/July by use of stem cuttings fixed in their natural positions in 4-5 rows at a distance of 20-30 cm.
Mukesh suggestion (i) Helped in protecting the crop plants from stray cattle. (ii) Both rose and citrus plants are economically important. They are a source of an extra income. (iii) The hedge protected the fields from wind erosion at the time of harvesting. (iv) It reduced the damage to crop plants by wind.
