Iron chromite (FeCr2O4) on reaction with sodium carbonate in presence of O2 forms chromium containing compound M. The solution of compound M is filtered and acidified with sulphuric acid to give a chromium containing crystalline compound N. If solution of N reacts with KCl then forms chromium containing compound O.
