Solution

The first trapezoid is

Area of the trapezoid = Area of the rectangle + area of the triangle

Area of the rectangle = length × width

length = 6m

width = 3m

Hence, area of the rectangle = 6 × 3= 18 sq m

Area of thet triangle = 12 × base × height

Base = 4 m

Height = 3 m

Area of the triangle = 12 × 4 × 3

= 6 sq m

Hence, the area of the first trapezoid = 24 + 6= 30 sq m

The next trapezoid is
Area of the trapezoid = Area of the rectangle + area of the triangle

Area of the rectangle = length × width

length = 5m

width = 4m

Hence, area of the rectangle = 5 × 4= 20 sq m

Area of thet triangle = 12 × base × height

Base = 4m

Height = 4m

Area of the triangle = 12 × 4 ×4

= 8 sq m

Hence, the area of the second trapezoid = 20 + 8= 28 sq m

The next trapezoid is

Area of the trapezoid = Area of the rectangle + area of the triangle

Area of the rectangle = length × width

length = 8m

width = 4m

Hence, area of the rectangle = 8 × 4= 32 sq m

Area of thet triangle = 12 base × height

Base = 4m

Height = 4m

Area of the triangle = 12 × 4 ×4

= 8 sq m

Hence, the area of the trapezium = 32 + 8= 40 sq m
