Why do we consider people with the blood group AB as universal recipients?

A person with blood type AB has both A and B antigens on the surface of their red blood cells. And therefore the body cells do not make antibodies against type A and B surface antigens. Therefore, a person with AB blood group can receive blood from a donor with any blood type (universal recipient) but can donate blood only to other people with type AB blood.
