  1. Colloidal solution: It is a heterogeneous mixture made up of two phases namely, the dispersed phase and the dispersion medium.
  2. The substance distributed as particles is called the dispersed phase.
  3. The continuous phase in which the colloidal particles are dispersed is called the dispersion medium.
  4. Solid in gas: Solute in Solid (dispersed phase) and Solvent gases (Dispersed medium).
  5. Such types of colloids are called aerosols where solids are dispersed phase and gas is dispersion medium.
  6. Example of such aerosols are Smoke and Automobile exhausts.
