Solution

The organic compounds consisting of Carbon (C) and Hydrogen (H) atoms are known as hydrocarbons.

Hydrocarbons are of two types depending on the kind of bonds formed between Carbon-Carbon atoms, saturated hydrocarbons, and unsaturated hydrocarbons

The organic compounds containing Carbon atoms having double bonds between two Carbon atoms are called unsaturated hydrocarbons.

Alkenes contain double bonds between the Carbon atoms so it is an unsaturated hydrocarbon.

Ethylene (C2H4) or Ethene gas is a phytohormone that acts in the early ripening of fruits.

Ethene gas acts as a growth regulator for plants.
