Solution

Thyrocalcitonin(TCT):

  1. The thyroid gland, which is made up of follicles and stromal tissue, is the biggest endocrine gland in the body.
  2. Parafollicular cells, also known as C-cells, are found in the stroma and secrete thyrocalcitonin (TCT).
  3. The feedback mechanism regulates TCT secretion by increasing calcium levels in the blood.
  4. TCT decreases blood calcium levels through increasing calcium deposition in the bones, as well as stimulating calcium excretion in the urine.
