Hydrochloric acid reacts with silver nitrate solution to form white precipitate of silver chloride.
The reaction occurs as:
AgNO3+NaCl→AgCl↑+NaNO3
This silver chloride is soluble in excess of ammonium hydroxide but are insoluble in dilute HNO3
The reaction occurs as:
AgCl+2NH4OH→Ag[NH3]+2Cl−+2H2O
