A seed has 3 portions- Seed coat, Endosperm, Embryo
Seed coat- The outermost layer which is formed from the integuments. It protects from the harsh environmental conditions and prevents excess water loss.
Endosperm- Nutrients are stored in the endosperm which supports germination of the seed.
Embryo- Fertilized egg forms the embryo which comprises different parts- Plumule, Radicle and Cotyledon.
