Solution

Synthetic fibre:

  • Synthetic fibres are known as those fibers which are artificially synthesized by humans within the industries.
  • In other words, Synthetic fabrics and textiles are made from man-made rather than natural fibers.
  • In this, the polymers are designed to make fabrics by the application of simple chemicals.
  • Examples include : Rayon, Nylon, Acrylic, Polyester, and Acetate.

First fully Synthetic fibre :

  • Nylon is known as the first fully synthetic fibre, which is also the strongest synthetic fibre.
  • Nylon is termed as a chemical polyamide polymer, which can be moulded into any shape.
  • The ingredients which are used to synthesize the most common nylon are Adipic acid and Hexamethylenediamine, each containing six carbon atoms, for which the product is named Nylon-6,6.
  • The reaction for the above reaction can be shown as:
Rubbers & Plastics: 2012

Hence, the name of the first fully synthetic fiber is Nylon and its ingredients are Adipic acid and Hexamethylenediamine.
