Satpura National Park -
Satpura national park is located in the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh. Its name is derived from the Satpura range. It covers an area of 524 square kilometres. Satpura national park, along with the adjoining Bori and Pachmarhi wildlife sanctuaries, provides 1,427 square kilometres (551 Square miles) of unique central Indian highland ecosystem. The Satpura national park was set up in the year 1981. Satpura national park is very rich in biodiversity. The animal found here are leopards, Indian giant squirrel, sambhar, chital, four-horned antelope, wild boar, mouse deer, fox, flying squirrel, bear, black buck etc. There are a variety of birds found here. Hornbills and peafowl are common among them.
