Leydig's cells:

  1. These cells are present between the seminiferous tubules of the male reproductive system.
  2. They secrete testosterone after getting stimulated by luteinizing hormone (LH) released from the anterior pituitary.

Role of testosterone:

  1. It is the primary male sex hormone responsible for the development of male secondary sexual characteristics such as facial hair, increased muscle mass, deepening of the voice, etc.
  2. It is also involved in the stimulation of protein metabolism.
