Solution

Myopia:

  1. In this type of refractive defect of vision, a person can see nearby objects clearly and is not able to see distant objects.
  2. It is due to the elongated eyeball on the horizontal axis and curvature of the cornea which makes it convex.
  3. In the case of myopia, the image of the object is formed in front of the retina instead of on the retina.
  4. A concave lens of suitable power is used to correct this defect of vision.
  5. It diverges the rays to focus correctly on the retina.

Hence, a concave lens is used to correct myopia.
