Global warming refers to the increase in the average temperature of the earth's surface. Although, the greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon meant to keep earth's temperature at an average of 15°C, an increase in the emission of greenhouse gases has led to an increase in the average temperature of earth. The greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming are CO${}_2$, CH${}_4$, CFCs and N${}_2$O.
