Adrenaline

  1. Adrenaline also known as epinephrine, is a hormone secreted by the medulla part of the adrenal glands present on top of both the kidneys.
  2. This hormone is secreted during acute stress conditions like strong emotional conditions such as fear, anger, pain, etc.
  3. It increases our heartbeat, blood pressure, respiration rate, and blood supply to the muscle, preparing the body for stress conditions.
  4. Adrenaline and cortisol both are stress hormones but adrenaline is an acute stress hormone and cortisol is a chronic stress hormone.
