Adrenaline:

  1. It is also called epinephrine, which prepares the body for an emergency. Hence, they are called emergency hormones.
  2. It is formed by the adrenal medulla of the adrenal gland.
  3. It is produced in response to stress of any kind and during an emergency situation like sudden fear or anger.
  4. It increases the heartbeat and the heart contraction.
  5. Adrenaline raises heart rate by turning on the chemical pathways that release the neurotransmitter noradrenaline from sympathetic nerves.

Hence, Adrenaline is responsible for the increase in heartbeat.
