Solution

Antidiuretic hormone

  1. Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) or vasopressin helps in the reabsorption of water from the kidney tubules
  2. It is secreted by the hypothalamus, stored, and released by the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland.
  3. The hyposecretion of ADH hormone causes a disorder of increased formation of urine and heavy urination leading to dehydration and intense thirst known as diabetes insipidus.
