Seminiferous tubules:

  1. The seminiferous tubules located in the testes are the primary producers of sperm in males.
  2. The site of production of sperm in males is the seminiferous tubules of the testes.

  4. Each lobule of the testis contains number of seminiferous tubules within them.

Function:

  1. The germinal epithelial cells which form the lining of the seminiferous tubules undergo a process called spermatogenesis to produce sperms.
  2. After 74 days of production, the mature sperm is transferred to the epididymis through the seminiferous tubules.
