Name the sub-atomic particles present in an atom of Hydrogen.

Open in App
Solution

According to the definition of Atomic Number(Z) and Mass number(A),

AtomicNumber(Z)=NumberofElectrons(e)=NumberofProtons(p)

MassNumber(A)=NumberofProtons(p)+NumberofNeutrons(n)

  1. Atomic Number of Hydrogen is 1
Hence, Number of Electron = 1 and Number of Proton = 1
  2. Mass number of Hydrogen is 1
Since, the Number of Protons = 1, Number of Neutrons in Hydrogen = 0.
  3. Hence, In Hydrogen Atom Two subatomic particles namely Electron and Proton are present.
