Gene expression at RNA level

Post-transcriptional regulation control of gene expression at the RNA level, such as capping, splicing etc.

Capping changes the 5' end of the mRNA to 3' end by 5'-5' linkage, which protects the mRNA from 5'- exonuclease, which degrades foreign RNA.

Splicing removes the introns, non-coding regions that are transcribed into RNA, in order to make the mRNA able to create proteins.
