The human nervous system is divided into the following two parts:
Central nervous system- The central nervous system comprises the brain and the spinal cord. The brain receives signals from the external environment and produces specific responses and the spinal cord carries signals from different parts of the body to the brain and vice versa.
Peripheral nervous system- The peripheral nervous system comprises all the nerves that originate from the central nervous system and transmit impulses between the brain and the different regions of the body.
