Solution

Carbon monoxide (CO) and Ammonia (NH3) gas act as reducing agents.

  • A reducing agent is a substance that itself gets oxidised in the reaction.
  • A reducing agent has the tendency to accept Oxygen (O) or donate Hydrogen (H).
  1. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a reducing agent because it can accept oxygen and form Carbon dioxide (CO2)
  2. Ammonia (NH3) is a reducing agent because it can donate hydrogen atoms and convert into Nitrogen (N2) gas.
