Structural polysaccharides found in fungi are chitin and cellulose,
(i) Cellulose. It occurs in a few fungi either alone (e.g., Phytophthora) or along with chitin. Cellulose is a homopolysaccharide of β 1- 4 glucose residues,
(ii) Chitin (Fungus Cellulose). In most fungi the structural polysaccharide of wall is chitin or fungus cellulose. It is a heteropolysaccharide of acetyl glucosamine residues.
