It is actually a size when the atom will lose or gain the electrons for the formation of the negatively charged (anions) and the positively charged (cations).
The total number of electrons present inare 10 and in a atom is 11.
The number of protons present in both the cases is same that is 11.
So, the force of attraction which would be present on the electron must be more in the case of Sodium ion as compared to the Sodium atom which will lead to the smaller size in case of Sodium ion.
Basically, cations of a particular element will have a smaller radius as compared to the neutral atom.
