Solution

The correct option is D Hydrogen atoms with excess energy
When hydrogen molecule (H2) is dissociate into its atomic hydrogen, then these newly formed hydrogens were called as Nascent hydrogens. These hydrogen atoms were more reactive than normal hydrogen due to the excess energy. Hence, Nascent hydrogen can reduce elements and compounds that do not readily react with normal hydrogen.

Nascent hydrogen is hydrogen in the form of individual atoms, not paired into molecules as it is in the gaseous state. It is also called newly born Hydrogen

It is more reactive than ordinary hydrogen.

When ordinary hydrogen is passed through KMnO4

KMnO4+H2+H2SO4no reaction

Zn+H2SO4ZnSO4+2[H]

[H] - nascent hydrogen

2KMnO4+3H2SO4+10[H]K2SO4+2MnSO4+8H2O
